I bought this unit to replace a similar radio/CD player that I had for years that stopped working. I've never used a CD player, so a basic radio seemed to do the trick. Bluetooth compatibility was a plus. Installation is relatively easy. To do this, drill three 1/4" holes in the bottom of the case using a template (supplied) to show where to drill. Shims are also supplied to adjust how far the radio hangs from the 3 screws under the case. The speakers are mounted on the bottom of the unit, so you can't just place the radio on a tabletop or other surface. The radio needs to be hung up. It is powered by the AC adapter so you need to run the cord from the nearest AC plug to the radio, hide the cord as best you can. There is also a 3-4 foot long wire antenna that was pulled away from the radio and attached to a wall somehow or under a cupboard. The placement of the antenna is crucial for receiving the radio signal. The radio also requires 2 AAA batteries (not included), however the batteries will only store the radio and clock settings in the event of a power failure. Stereo The radio will only operate on the FM band, no AM. The clock has alarm and timer functions. Presumably the device can be paired with Bluetooth devices like a phone or tablet and will play audio from the device through the radio's speakers. Ringtones from a paired phone also play through the radio's speakers, and the radio works as a speakerphone with a paired device. Unfortunately I could not pair the radio with my mobile phone. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the device, if it's not compatible with my old phone, or if it's an operator error on my part. Will have to keep experimenting. I didn't care too much about the Bluetooth function so I didn't think about returning the device, but potential buyers should be wary.
