Review on PoochieBells Classic Collection: The Original Dog Potty Training Doorbell - Made in USA! by Sue Taylor

The best (and worst) solution! Haha

I've never seen a dog ring the bell to go outside but when I heard about it I knew I wanted to teach our puppy that. I bought it a few weeks before Grayson came to our house and started "training" from the start. Although we initially took him outside for the potty, we rang the bell ourselves and said "ring the bell" every time. After about 3 weeks at home he called for the first time himself. He was in the living room with us and was acting a bit weird (you're starting to see the signs that it's time for her to go!) so I asked him if he needed to get out and he went straight to the door and rang the bell ! He called him a few days before but I think it was more to play with him. If your pup does this, I would recommend that even if he's just playing with him, especially at first, every time he touches the bell, especially at first, you take him outside so he really has an association between the bell and going outside Has. I will say that now at 7 months Grayson is definitely abusing the system and calling when he just wants to go outside. But if I tell him no (because I know he doesn't have to go), he'll back off. It's pretty funny how bad it must be, judging by the way it rings. Sometimes it's just a little nudge and a tiny ding, and other times he's squeezing the bell from all sides so it rings like crazy. He's very stubborn, haha. I would like to caution this review by explaining that there was no constant call access and perhaps we should have done things differently. Still potty trained, he spent about 90% of his time behind the gate in the kitchen, so he couldn't ring the bell even if he wanted to. I'm sure others would complete this training much sooner than 3 weeks if they were sure the pup could always access the bell. Definitely recommend. It's fun and easy to teach your dog and helps a lot with potty training. Also, make your guests laugh happily when your pup rings the bell. ;)
