This drum cart was purchased for our greenhouse family business to haul 55 gallon drums. We converted plastic kegs, but you must follow the instructions and guidelines for using plastic containers. The instructions required me to put the bolts with the nuts and washers on top. I couldn't turn the bolts down or the wheels wouldn't turn. So I cut out and put a 1/2" piece of plywood over the base with the stud pattern cut out. That way the weight of the water on the studs wouldn't seep through my plastic barrels. The carriage seems to support the weight and allows us to to push and roll these barrels across the clean areas of our concrete floors.
