When I opened the blanket for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised. It was really light, very soft and was perfect for our king size bed. I debated whether or not to wash it before putting it on our bed, but it was vacuum sealed and odorless so I decided not to wash it yet. Our dogs are allowed to come and cuddle at night. The moment one of them jumped onto the bed, he started sniffing the ceiling and sneezing uncontrollably. So I realized that it needs to be washed before we sleep with it. Who knows what he smelled. The fabric showed excessive pilling after just one wash. This is my giant pet trouble! Do you know how annoying it is to fluff up a king size comforter?!? ok leave it When you put it back on the bed you will find that the hem also unravel after a wash. It was the ONLY thing in the washing machine. It wasn't like I washed it with items that could cause harm. The fabric feels VERY thin. Between normal wear and tear, kids and our dogs, I don't think it will be long before we start to see tears and tears in it. Needless to say I don't think this blanket will last long. It's such a shame because it's really soft, very warm, looked good initially, washes and dries quickly and easily. I bought two because the price was right and I wanted to take one off to wash and put on a clean one right away. We'll use them until they really start to break down, then they'll become cozy blankets for our dogs to nest in their own beds.
