I've been trying to test all the beginner friendly yoyos I've seen at Revain and recently got my hands on the YO3 Hertz from MagicYoYo. This is a wide profile yo-yo with an unresponsive concave bearing. If you are new to the yo-yo, this means that the bearing allows the yo-yo to spin at the bottom of the string for a long time without bouncing back when you pull on the yo-yo. The concave shape of the bearing keeps the line centered and away from the walls inside the yo-yo, helping to reduce friction and increase sleep time. The yo-yo is very stable, its yellow friction stickers are very responsive and constantly grab the string for regular play. The yo-yo is also very stable and easily handles longer tricks, and my meager attempts at horizontal movements worked well too. Finger rotation is possible but takes practice as the sleeve is not designed to center itself. I chose black, blue and magenta anodizing. It looks very stunning in the right lighting and is a nice subtle blackout to add to my vibrant collection. The finish is shot peened to allow for grinding and reduce drag when the yo-yo comes in contact with other surfaces. This worked great for fingers, hands, thumbs, and UFO/Tornado bindings.
