Review on πŸŽ™οΈ Pro Lapel Microphone JK MIC-J 044 - Compatible with Sennheiser Wireless Transmitter | Omnidirectional Condenser Mic by Colleen Jackson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great replacement for Sennheiser

PROS: - Matches perfectly with Sennheiser packages - Surprisingly good sound quality - Easy to work with EQ / attach to talent / adjust levels - Only $30 AGAINST: - Build quality is not the same as Sennheiser in stock but only costs $30. In the foreword to this review, I will mention my main application for the JK MIC-J 044. I was looking for a cheap mic replacement for the Sennheiser G series chest mic collection (20 to be exact). which are used for community theater up to 10 times a year for 3 weeks. Talent carrying mics range from young teens to seasoned adults. So I didn't worry too much about buying a big brand, the best quality on the market. More of a mic that doesn't break the bank too much when a replacement is needed, but at least wanted something that would last the whole show and sound reasonably decent. The results exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is the same as Sennheiser microphones and even better in some situations. So CHECK sound quality. For longevity. I won't be rude because I know the difference between our expensive Countryman lapels, stock Senheisers, and their $30 quick changes. The materials used are less than more expensive brands but they last. The only reason my durability rating is only 3 out of 5 is due to the inconsistent build of the mics. I bought about 12 and one of them didn't work at all and the other only lasted one run. Then I have some that look awful and a few that have had the mesh cover cracked and still work like new. Anyway, I'm not complaining yet. It only costs $30 and requires "It will work" VERIFICATION for this durability. In most cases, these microphones are attached to the musician with medical tape. They face the beating of live theater. JK MIC-J 044 is an excellent substitute for everything from simple plays to full-fledged musicals. Considering I can't protect all my mics, the $30 investment is worth it to me.
