TERRIBLE Think twice - I wish I had

Think twice before you order because I wish I had. First off, we bought two of these KidKraft houses and both were a nightmare to build. The instructions are not clear at all. They don't show which side of the piece should face which direction so we glued a few pieces and then had to step back 2-3 steps when we realized what kind of room we were building and that the wall decals in the wall were in the wrong place - because the parts go in any direction and it doesn't show the pictures in the instructions. We then found some pieces of wood that had chipped on the edges, some unfortunately in horrible places where screws should have been - this resulted in them just twisting around and not connecting to the wood so the pieces were very loose were etc. d. We also had to glue some broken parts together. All but 2 battery powered units (between 2 houses) were not working due to acid leaking from the batteries. I went out and bought new batteries only to find that replacing them wouldn't get the cells to work so they were all completely dead. :( (I assume it leaked battery acid.) Finally on Christmas morning (we were still holding on to the last straw of hope that our kids might still love them despite our disappointment) our girls were thrilled to see the Main, because they had elevators but unfortunately my 8 year old child and even more so my 4 year old child could not move the elevator despite using both hands and pulling with all his might leading to tears of disappointment on all sides (including myself (after spending a total of 6 hours putting both houses together and walking around trying and not being able to start the batteries.) So think twice before you buy; for us it just wasn't worth it! :(
