Review on πŸ›οΈ Cellophane Mixed Bag: A Versatile Solution for All Your Packaging Needs by Amber Perez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Two great (slightly) rare trogg gems.

First of all I would like to start this review by saying that these are original versions, nothing has been reworked here. These are two albums - the third and fourth Troggs albums, released in 1967 and 1968 respectively. Some of the songs on both albums are in stereo, others in mono. 24 great songs. The Cellophane album is (mostly) 3 guitars and drums, pure rock, sometimes flute. pretty easy for 1967, but not EVERY band will go psychedelic in 1966-67. The only ones that are somehow reminiscent of Flower Power or Psychedelic are the last 3-4 songs of the album. One of these songs is in the Top 40 "Love Is All Around", in addition to the song just mentioned. There are some melodic songs here, "Its Showing" is one of them. The first few songs are pretty basic pop/rock, with the exception of "Butterflies And Bees” which has a modern jazz/pop sound. A great song and a substitute for the Troggs' mostly raw and dark '60s rock sound that Troggs are known for. Is this album good? yes, this is one of their best. the highlights of this album are "Little Red Donkey", "Butterflies and Bees", "All the Time", "Somewhere My Girl Waits", "My Lady" and of course "Love is Everywhere". Was it the Trogg idea "All you need is love"? or a "boy loves a girl" song, maybe a little bit of both. The album "Mixed Bag" is a different story, it still has the Troggs signature rock/pop sound, but there are more psychedelic songs on this album, it was 1968 after all. There are no American hits here. There is probably one or two British hits here. highlights, surprise,
