Maybe it would have worked, but unfortunately the spout in the box was not attached to the teapot. At first I thought I should have screwed it in, but that didn't seem possible due to bits of metal falling off from a bad weld. Returned and ordered another, not with a narrow spout. I would have preferred the narrow spout variant, but now I'm suspicious of how vulnerable such a thin spout can be to damage depending on how it's packaged.
