Not compatible with TRRS
I bought this to use with an IEM kit in a desktop headphone amp that requires a 1/4" jack. For this specific purpose, they work well. Fits snugly on both ends for a secure connection. The profile is fairly low and doesn't add too much extension to the base. Unfortunately, this adapter is not compatible with TRRS. This means that you cannot use headphones when the built-in microphone is connected. Something is grounded in the adapter and not allowing clean access to the correct rings. So now I'm looking for a true universal adapter. TL; DR: Sounds great, but it's not TRRS compatible.
