Made for inexpensive repairs.
broken wire right in the connector on one of my fog lights. I couldn't find anyone who only sold a replacement connector and the alternative was to buy a whole new car wiring harness for a few hundred dollars. I took one of these, cut off one end and connected it to my existing harness with waterproof butt joints. A two-minute fix for a few dollars instead of taking hours to disassemble a car for a few hundred dollars. There is no food there.
