Review on ๐ŸŒ’ Maximize Performance with Mission VaporActive Barometer Running Moonless by Toby Galbraith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Beautiful but high quality (materials, finishes and features), assembling it into a single set doesn't help.

Too small for me so here are my wife's comments: I like the 3/4 zip, how the hood works, the sleeves, the ventilation, the small pocket on the sleeve on the shoulder etc. Reflective tape is good too (though not enough given the colour). In other words, lots of features to enjoy. But the sum of the parts does not make a perfect jacket. I just didn't feel like everything was put together in one attractive package. Firstly, I'm not sure what to do with the black jacket. I'm not particularly fond of color as a color, but more importantly, when I'm wearing these things for the activities they're designed for, I try to wear something that shows. We live in a relatively rural area (which means there are no sidewalks) so visibility is essential. But even in areas with a lot of sidewalks (or even on paths), black isn't optimal. Throughts? Funnily enough, it turned out that getting out of this jacket was easier by unzipping it, throwing the jacket on the ground, and stepping out of it (rather than putting it on and taking it off over your head). Opening the bonnet. I miss not having it on the bottom, but I didn't route it around the hood opening as there is an elastic solution that works (even in strong winds). Speaking of the hood, this is a high collar hood (i.e. the neck zips up to keep your neck warm leaving only your face exposed). That is a good thing. Maybe not so good that the hood can't be removed. The fit was a little smaller/tighter than expected from something advertised as a "loose fit" (note: my wife is 5ft 8" with a slim build). "Long" in the sleeves; It's good that the sleeves reached the hands, so there was no gap between the sleeve and the glove. Washes and dries well. No problem as long as you follow the directions on the label. I liked the quality, while the fabric is windproof and possibly waterproof, it helps wick away sweat. Generally a quality kit. really works. At $100 (the price of Revain at the time of writing this review), it's not too expensive. Having said that, I wouldn't choose this jacket over what other brands offer (Asics, Nike, adidas, Reebok, etc.). We love Mission AthleteCare's products and were excited to get this jacket. There was no disappointment but we weren't thrilled. Ed. respectively materials, meticulous workmanship, many features make it remarkable. But unfortunately, as mentioned above, the overall effect does not exceed the sum of its parts. 4 stars.

Pros
  • If you prefer a looser fit please take one size up
Cons
  • Not bad
