I bought this antenna in addition to my current Dish satellite service because I paid extra for an additional local channels package. The Dish Hopper service allows you to add an antenna and integrate local over-the-air channels directly into the dish guide, eliminating the need for an additional local dish channel package. I installed this antenna. on a metal pole, in the attic of my 3rd floor of the house, and ran a cable to the 1st floor where my record bin is. I then ran a scan to find and capture local OTA channels. I was amazed that it was able to cover over 60 channels over a very large area (over 100 miles). Before installing it in my attic, I tested the ground floor antenna and it picked up all my closest OTA channels (30+ of them). It also worked very well with the ground floor antenna. So, with this great antenna to complement my Dish satellite service, I can now forego the additional local channel package and the antenna pays for itself in just a few months. So it was worth it. The antenna handles ALL my (very) large local OTS feeds flawlessly and the HD feeds look fantastic. I highly recommend this antenna. Just remember that the higher the antenna, the higher the chances of receiving more channels. I recommend this antenna. It's worth every penny!
