I liked this for my 8 and 9 year olds because they were able to use it on their own after we showed them how to use it opens and closes it and it met our needs as it had space for food and drinks. However, they couldn't eat over it, and it doesn't seem sturdy enough to withstand the pressure an overzealous toddler can put on it. Many vehicles are equipped with cup holders, but usually without cup holders. I think that's pretty much the only benefit besides the fact that it fits two glasses. I've left it in my car for over a month and haven't heard the annoying rattling noise that other reviewers have reported.
