When I smoke, I use pots and other metal objects that get very hot. Sometimes I just don't want to wear my thermal gloves, so I throw a couple of these towels over my shoulder and grab trays, pans, etc. along with the towels. Works perfectly. (I usually fold them to better protect my hands from the heat. Be careful). just use them. Then I just throw them back over my shoulder. Super fast, safe and easy. I bought the black ones to avoid looking like ugly and disgusting looking towels. Stains are not visible, as with lighter cloths. They can also be used to wipe hands when grilling and smoking. Just a great tool for grilling and smoking. I really enjoy them. I am sure when my son finds out I bought them he will use them to wipe down his truck too. I definitely like them, especially for what I bought them for.
