Very easy to scratch. The laser induced lines with dimensions appear to be fairly accurate. I've used this to make coin rings and it seems pretty soft and not the strongest. I cut two flats into the handle to hold it better in a vise. Otherwise, it seems like a decent piece for the money, but I wouldn't recommend anything other than sculpting small gold/silver bands instead of coin rings.
