I love these tools and find them invaluable for CAT6 termination. They are ideal for cutting through the cable jacket without damaging the individual cores. Just give a full or 3/4 turn around the cable with moderate force and the sheath should snap and loosen. You don't need to stress yourself too much. A small splitter at the end is also very practical for separating 4 pairs of wires from each other. Simply twist each pair a little at the base to create a small gap, insert a metal pin and pull down on a piece of wire to separate without damaging the wire. I say make a little gap because if you just try to insert a dividing point between the base of the twisted pair, you COULD scratch the screen and possibly force you to cut the cable and start the process over. Once you try them, you will love them!
