I have ordered several of these kits for emergency kits and tornado shelters. We keep regular Mylar blankets in our first aid kits, but we wanted something stronger if we needed it for anything longer than a quick emergency. Typical Mylar blankets are less durable and tear easily. This one is also larger than what came in our first aid kits (56" x 84"). I prefer this blanket to the versatile Mylar we had. It's not as "crumpled" and I like the bright orange color as well as the larger size. The weight is negligible so I had no problem throwing it in our emergency backpacks.
