I host a Santa Pub in my town and the corset matches my costume perfectly. While the listing says they should fit your natural waistline, I could go a size down to get the full corset effect. I used to have a 27 foot waist and would fit an L (26-28 inch) waist, but I've gained some weight in the last few years so I bought an XL (28-30 inch). In terms of suit and for longer wear, XL was a good choice because I could breathe and move, but it didn't suck me in and I had to lace it up all the way in the back. If I were buying for the sex factor I would suggest going down a size. I thought about returning the item ahead of my event but realized comfort was key as I wouldn't be changing my suit this year. I still get scathing comments from women even though I prefer comfort over fit. I think it just means the top is sexy no matter what!
