I did not pay attention to the quality of the leather case when buying it, but in general it could be improved. I have two Montana West leather bags so I know they can do more. The shoulder strap is too thin and too long. It is not strong enough and falls too low, so it is used for concealed carry. In addition, the zippers should work more smoothly, especially in the pistol compartments. If the manufacturer had just upped the ante, it would have been a reasonably priced five star bag. On the plus side it's a fantastic color for summer, it's very soft and roomy.
