I've tried half a dozen other handlebar mirrors over the years and the Hafny is still the best. glass or stainless steel) and most importantly it is compact and does not interfere. Tried too many other mirrors that stuck out too far, or had an awkward field of view, or barely reflected enough light to be useful, or were poorly adjusted. Hafny's "automotive grade" glass is fairly durable, tolerant of scratches and moderate use. The stainless steel version is even better suited to heavy use. But it loses half a star because the rest of the plastic construction isn't as strong. There is a single (almost invisible) seam on the outer ring which in the event of an impact becomes a rupture point which the mirror obviously tends to absorb in a fall as it is on the outer end of the handlebar. If it breaks, it really breaks - it's even temporarily difficult to glue or tape the fragile parts together. Can't ask for more for the price, but it would be nice if it wore more grace - I would have preferred a metal ring that would bend or dent rather than splinter so it could at least be temporarily repaired. Or if the glass was designed to be fixed in the center (which is more secure) rather than being fixed with the vulnerable outer ring. However, keep in mind that it is comparable to almost every other mirror product in terms of durability. While the field of view is decent and the ball and socket adjustment is pretty good (not exactly 360°), I still find myself pushing it to the limit. and want to turn it up or up another five or ten degrees to get the perfect angle. It's flexible, but not as flexible as a gooseneck mount. The second ball joint probably helps for fine adjustment. But it's still a better situation than any other mirror I've tried as the corners work at least 95% of the time. It also withstands uneven conditions and is still manually adjustable even with the screw fully tightened. I recently upgraded to an anti-reflective version (after irreparably damaging a previous Hafny stainless steel mirror mount). The anti-glare glass is really effective in bright light, but note that the image is bluer and slightly darker. That difference isn't enough to make a difference in darker conditions for most people, and the anti-glare effect otherwise makes sense. However, if you drive a lot at night or your eyesight needs a brighter picture, consider a regular glass or stainless steel mirror.
