The rails themselves work well enough and there was enough wiggle room in the multi-bolt arrangement to be able to mount them directly onto the dead base of the power seat that connects to a captain's chair made by Long Vans the Conversion company gone. so in my case there were no measurements and drilling, which is surprising and good. and a huge BUT. Obviously, the adjustment rod factory setting cannot take more than 2 minutes in a real application. I haven't even tried to use it. I reinforced the connection with worm gear clamps for the breadboard and will now permanently attach the rod to the rail exit with a ton of JB welding and use the adjuster NOCH carefully. You may be able to solder the rod to the release spring plate, but I didn't put that much into this $40 project. If they built a trigger spring plate using just a small #8 or #10 pin instead of a Mickey mouse, how is that done? It would be a really great all round kit out of the box.
