This is a transparent plastic tablecloth. Came in a folded package - do they have creases? Yes. Does it have an odor? Yes, it smells like plastic - but it fades very quickly. A warm hair dryer will help smooth out some of the wrinkles, but not completely. I buy them, use them for a certain amount of time and just exchange them. I confess I'm considering buying glass. It would certainly be easier to manage and clean up - less waste. So far they have saved my desk from serious damage. I've had a few that were a bit thinner, although to be honest this one isn't very thick. It has an open edge, meaning it's just a cut piece of plastic. I've had ones with threaded edges - usually thinner ones. I think I like the raw cut rather than the stitched edge. For me it's less noticeable. The stitched edge stands out in my opinion. For the price - it works as I need it to. It's not ideal, but it works.
