Review on 🧡 1,090 Yard Mini Cone of Superior Threads Kimono Silk Filament Sewing Thread in (#374 Mikimoto) by Jennifer Roberts

Worth every cent when sewing

I'm ready to tell you how much I love this. I am not sponsored and neither is this review, I just love this brand. If you have never used kimono silk sewing thread I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is stronger than cotton or polyester thread (standard 50 weight), although this 100 weight thread is much thinner. In addition, it sews well, does not snag, generates virtually no lint and is much less knotted than standard cotton or polyfilament. However, when hand sewing, I would recommend waxing the thread slightly to reduce tangling, as hand sewing always results in thread tangles during processing. but it's a fair price and worth it. Over a thousand yards of filament will last a long time depending on your projects, and if you're strict about footage and price (ignoring quality/fiber content), it's less than 2 cents a yard, which is often what you'll be paying. for normal sewing. If you're new to silk threads, kimono silk (that's just the name of this size/brand) and hoop silk/superior threads (manufacturer/supplier) are awesome overall. Tons of colors, most commonly needed thread sizes, and easy purchase for US buyers. You can also get color charts with real thread color swatches as well as different density swatches by visiting Superior Threads website. Super useful for adapting to your projects.
