This LED kit offers fantastic value for money. Considering how much they would have cost just a few years ago. That's great. The strips themselves are encased in a gel-like plastic strip. So it should be fairly waterproof. However, the connections at the ends can be weatherproof. In my application I use them indoors. Many others pointed out that self-adhesive film is no good. It's not great. Looks like 3M glue. (At least the Chinese can write "3M" on the backing paper if it's fake.) 3M has about 50 adhesive formulations that can be used for this type of application. If it's real 3M glue. You clearly chose the wrong wording. It's probably stuck to a non-porous surface like metal or glass. Don't expect it to stick to concrete, brick, or textured walls without contact cement. This problem is easy to solve. Simply apply some contact adhesive to the surface to be glued. Let the contact adhesive dry a bit and then stick on the LED strip. It will stick permanently. The actual LED strip is pretty bright. The LEDs match. All colors work. There are no bad chips. Dimmer control is limited but functional. It can produce about 30 different colors. You can also control the white LEDs separately, so you can also mix beautiful pastel colors. You can't program a 25-minute "sunset," but it does perform some basic "party" color-changing tricks. But in most cases, people will probably just set the color and leave it. One of its best features is the fact that it "remembers" the last setting you made. So turning off the AC will restore the same settings. (This is important for architectural use.) The AC-DC power supply looks good. It has a ground connection. But it has absolutely no UL or CE approval. (Don't blame me if this burns your house down.) Instructions and product labels are in usual Chinglish style. Usually you can understand what they mean. In general. It works as advertised and the price couldn't be better.
