WARNING: LONG REVIEW I used to have sea monkeys, probably when I was in first grade. I remember my dad throwing away food, how I had a big tantrum and ignored the sea monkeys for a good three weeks, and when I came back and found a little lonely sea monkey in the aquarium. After we showered him with love, he died and we threw it all away. Now I'm in high school and thought I'd be responsible enough to take care of some brine shrimp meant for little kids. I received the package on February 11th and honestly I had no hope. There was a sticky mess in my tank - I could see small deposits of glue on the outside where it was dripping. When I opened the lid I found a small tear in the plastic. I was disappointed but still very excited to try these little things again so I grabbed some E6000 to patch the hole quickly and a bottle of water to fill the line. Day 1: I opened the package, fixed the hack with the E6000 and off I went! When I opened Bag 1, the water filter bag was light green with small black-red dots and just fell out of the bag. I had to dip it in water, pan, throw back and repeat. From what I remember, packet 1 was supposed to be white powder (at least that's what I saw in first grade?), but oh well. I ended up with package 1 and put everything else aside. It was around 6:45pm when I finished. Day 2: 23:30 (a lot of homework, what can I say?), I opened bag number 2. Again, I remember from memory that I was able to just about pour the white powder into the tank, but again "powder" was green, wet, and speckled with small black dots. I was quite disappointed, but was forced to do the swing-and -Perform the drop technique again Looking into the tank I saw nothing moving Day 3: (approx 10:30pm) IT WAS AGAIN I could see the total 3. Great But good "It was something I think? I took a coffee stirrer (red thin plastic straws) and blew some air into it. When I was done I couldn't find her. Hoping I hadn't accidentally killed her, I went to bed .Day 4: Here are 3 baby sea monkeys. When I checked on day 4 I could see at least 80 small children moving.Knowing I was probably facing a mass extinction (had anyone heard of it, 80 sea monkeys to adulthood to educate?), I said goodbye before I went to bed. (Day 4 was basically Day 5, it was about 1:45 am when I finished my chemistry homework!) Day 5: When I checked there were maybe 20 sea monkeys, but they were now big enough that I could see without to really concentrate. I couldn't see the tiny babies anymore, so I probably had a whole carpet of dead babies on the bottom of the tank (good thing they were so small I couldn't see them very well. That would be awful). , I fed her on day 7 and stopped watching on day 12. My sea monkeys have grown. Now I have about 30 individuals in the aquarium - 15 large adults and many juveniles. I saw three tiny babies today (they're literally the size of a dot and almost impossible to see unless you know what you're looking for. Look for little white floats.) and I have lots of reddish-brown float spots. about a hundred of them. (A google search told me the brownish-red spots are sea monkey eggs, so it was probably the weird stuff in the package?) I have a sea monkey aquarium on my desk and they accompany me when I do homework. It's been a long time since I fed them, but they have a small colony of algae in their tank (they're mostly just exposed to my table lamp, so I don't expect too much photosynthesis). I don't often fill the tank with oxygen. Anyway, I was originally going to give it four stars because of the cracked tank, bad glue on the bottom, and magnifying bubbles that don't do anything at all. But at the time I didn't buy it for the aquarium and could have used a stone jug for a "nice presentation". It's just important to be very patient and watch closely :) I've attached a picture so you can see the sea monkeys in my tank in Taiwan for five months, during that time nobody fed or ventilated the sea monkeys. When I came back they were gone :( So I actually bought another set of sea monkeys and start the process again - I bought a set of sea monkeys on the moon and we'll see what happens! I already had a completely different experience!
