Needs a little time.

First of all the leather feels and looks like a good product. I watched a few recommended videos, not all, and started there. A person with OCD will have better luck. I'm more of a project manager. The instructions are to have a drink, turn on the music and wait three hours. They really said that. I didn't believe it. But it took me three hours. I have a few skipped stitches, but that's on me. I didn't want to undo 25 stitches to fix them. My starting position doesn't look too good, but it's my fault here too. The video recommends using flat waxed floss purchased from a craft store as it doesn't slip as much. I used the thread that came with the kit. My biggest problem was that when you pulled 8 feet of thread through the perforated holes, the thread would get tangled and if you weren't looking carefully you would tie the knot very quickly, requiring the use of a needle to untie the knot. Two or three knots became so tight that I couldn't untangle them, so I left them. They won't stand out, but large tangles/knots will need to be untangled or they won't fit through punched holes. My second biggest complaint was that the needles are a bit brittle and the eyes break easily. At one point I tore up three quarters of the project, and I had to rearrange a needle to a different thread EVERY TIME! How painful! So if you can get waxed flax and maybe some spare needles, I would. Well, all said and done, I'm very happy with the end result. This was on a classic GMC camper wheel that was sticky no matter how I cleaned it. Now it looks so luxurious and practical. I'm glad I invested the time. Again, if you can get some floss and spare needles and are meticulous, this is a great upgrade for most cars.
