My wife and I have a gas fireplace in the basement. From time to time we can smell natural gas coming from the fireplace area. (The fireplace is turned off during the summer months). We could not determine the location of the gas leak. Until now! Forensics Gas Leak Detector is highly accurate! The gas leak detector is very easy to use. I took the unit outside and installed the 3 batteries that came with it. Then I turned on the tester and let it calibrate itself. Turned off the tester. Back in our basement, I turned the tester back on. I put the sniffer at the base of the chimney. Only a few seconds later the tester alarm went off! Natural gas seeped into the chimney through the gas shut-off valve. A new gas fire protection valve must be installed. Good value for money. I should be able to do the repair myself. Edward M
