This shaving cream is not just for a close shave. It contains Tasmanian pepper, which is said to make shaving easier and reduce irritation. It also contains allantoin and provitamin B5 that reduce irritation and redness and moisturize the skin. The shaving cream worked well and seemed to make shaving easier and I had no irritation or redness after the shave. I usually shave with a 3 euro blade and shaving gel and usually have no problems. This puts shaving and skin care a notch above the cheapest decent shaving gel. Are the benefits obvious? I'm really not sure. I usually apply a moisturizer right after shaving, which soothes and hydrates my skin. Since this cream only sits on my face for a few minutes, common sense tells me that the post-shave benefits are minimal. This is a good shaving cream and if you've had irritation or redness issues this can be a good option to help soothe those issues.
