This was the first time I used a non-Japanese kettle. It was a reliable product. inside (grid?) worked fine, no problem. The heat won't last that long, of course it's glass. But you can put a glass container in the microwave to warm up the tea. Cozy. The design is simple, making it easy to hand wash. I bought it for $20. I'm not sure about other products, so I can't say much about the price. it was hard. It's been 2 months since purchase and it's still good.
