Planarian killing tools like NoPlanaria cost about $14 and result in the need to vacuum out dead planaria so this seemed like a better alternative. I used mosquito larvae in the trap and caught about 40 planarians in the first day and a half. I noticed that arranging the holes in the substrate produces more planarians than arranging the holes on the side. After the first day I wanted to wash the planaria out of the tube and noticed that the mosquito larvae smelled surprisingly foul. Therefore, I tried to change the bloodworm more often, and it seemed to me that it attracts the planarians faster. Sometimes the planarian crawls out of one of the three tubes, but in general it is very effective. Please note that this is glass and should be handled with care.
