I bought this product despite seeing some reviews saying it doesn't work on real grass. This works on grass, but the grass needs to be cut short and the kid pushing it needs to understand that you really need to hold on to the handle/rear wheels to make it fizz. My 21 month old had a hard time understanding this at first, but succeeded after a few minutes of trying. An older toddler will likely figure it out quicker, but a younger one might have more trouble. That being said, it works much better on cement/carpet/wood floors. Also, the lawnmower will bubble up when it's raised, tipped over, or generally in any other than flat position, but with proper use it doesn't leak. Considering the price, these quirks didn't bother me as we were able to work around them. My daughter loves this thing and it gives her lots of exercise.
