You may be wondering what the problem is if you appreciate a basic audio cable, but this one did what no other cable I've tried could, ie I was able to slip it into my heavy phone case, without removing it and without hiss! The bottom line is that this advertised cable has a "step-down" ring design, where the connectors on either end aren't as flat as most. This allows you to fully connect it to the opening ports and not generate static sound. I used this cable to connect my phone to the car's aux-in jack, but also wanted a phone case to be worn while gaming. Every other cable I tried had the ring connectors shorter and therefore didn't fully fit my phone. This "down" cable did the trick. I can listen to music from the iPad through my audio system while keeping it in the case and I don't have to worry about the sound quality degrading. Again, I have tried several cables from other brands and have not been successful. Great cable and does exactly what I wanted. Thank you DuCable!
