BIG TERK! the best of graters

My current hand grater is one of those four-sided hand graters that I just hate. There is a small handle at the top which is very difficult to hold. It's very light and moves everywhere when I use it. I can't tell you how many times I've cut my knuckles on this thing. I put up with it because I didn't see anything in stores that I thought would be better. Then - I saw this manual grater. I can only say. . . I LOVE THIS BUR! I thought he was weaker than he really is. I wasn't hopeful at all when I ordered it but figured I'd get it anyway since it's KitchenAid branded. God I'm glad I took a chance and ordered this awesome grater! It's heavy enough to feel secure in your hand, and unlike light hand rubs, cheese chopping doesn't go back and forth all over the place. Don't get me wrong, it moves a bit when you use it, but I don't have to use that much force to keep it where it needs to be. I don't think I explained it very well, but I don't know how to explain it better. The handle is 5-1/2 inches long. My hand is wrapped tightly around the handle and it's long enough that I can hold it very securely while grinding the cheese! One thing I really love is that this hand grater has a plastic lid that prevents my hand from being cut when I take it out of the tool holder (flower pot shape) to get it out. It is very easy to remove and reinstall - just slide and remove. If you need a hand grater, I don't think you'll find anything better than this KitchenAid beauty. I LOVE mine so much and I think you will love it too!
