I expected mediocre quality, but the product was pleasantly surprised.
It makes no sense to take a firmware without a 4K TV. Yes, there will be several games with unlocked FPS, but the difference of 10+k is not worth it. With a 4K TV you will see the difference, but only on 3-5 really worthwhile games, but optimized games will look the same. After buying the firmware, I began to think about assembling a gaming PC. If you don’t have Sonya, then it’s better to assemble a gaming PC for 30k. Yes, you will not have 60 fps on ultra, but Sonya's 4 hardware is still outdated and with a computer for your 30k you will get better performance and lower cost of games in Steam. For exclusives, you can take a fatka for 11k on ebay, buy more games on disks, and then sell them for the same amount as you bought them for. If you have fat or slim, the upgrade only makes sense if you have 4K and a very strong itch in your pocket with money.
- 1) Not bad stretches patched games to 4K (The Witcher 3, HZD, Uncharted 4) 2) Raised FPS in some games (DS 3, BF1) 3) Much quieter than fatki, almost inaudible, but still noisy in stressful moments
- 1) HDR in such games as HZD and BF1, I did not notice. Turned it on and off - no difference. 2) Very few optimized games. As far as I know, chess rendering up to 4K from popular games is only in Uncharted 4, HZD and The Witcher 3 (but I could be wrong). The FPS was also raised in few places (I only know BF1 - there really is a difference after a fat with drawdowns of up to ~ 40 fps, on the firmware it is almost always 60 and DS3 - on average it now gives out 45 instead of the old 30) 3) Developers are in no hurry to patch games for either FPS or resolution. And apparently they will not be in a hurry. Bloodborne was never patched. The Witcher had to wait a year after the release of the firmware, and then the developers first said that there would be no optimization.
