My wife saw several boats with blue cockpit lights at night and immediately wanted one for our new boat. I simply tied them to an open switch on the dash and ran a cable through the engine bay at the rear to get to the other side of the boat. I had to buy additional cables. The adhesive pads have worked great so far. I was concerned they would fall off with all the ups and downs of the boat but so far they are holding up very well. They clean the inside of the boat very well. The light is very easy on the eye, allowing you to see and navigate the night sky. I mounted them in the gunwale and let them shine out of the niche.
