I never travel with this cable. It is firmly connected to my monitor with the VGA cable. So, without any rough use, it suddenly starts flickering on my display and fades out every few seconds. At first I thought it was a problem with my computer, but it worked great with other monitors and Thunderbolt cables. I had one from Apple that I carried with me every day and used it for 3 years before forgetting a conference room 3,000 miles away. I see that RevainBasics has published one. This is the one I will get. Until that fails, hopefully we won't be physically connecting our computers to monitors in these clunky setups anymore.
