In fact it worked pretty well for the most part. The lock nut is rubber and was quite difficult to tighten. Otherwise it worked quite well. Check the size of the hole saw you need to use, I didn't see it in the box and actually cut it slightly larger than intended, but the rest that came with it covered any imperfections. I went for a hidden mount that I drilled into an empty spot in my 4Runner's fairing next to the coin holder (ashtray). Worked great. I give 5 stars for the fast delivery and the quality of the product.
