After spending many days researching chairs in the under $200 category, I settled on this one. As you can see, this chair is very similar to the Lorell Executive Mesh High Back Chair and also the Alera Elusion High Back Chair. Please note that this is a review of a chair under $200 and not compared to chairs like $800-$1000 which some people seem to like for some reason. I also work from home at least once a week. the same number of hours spent surfing the web and playing games. So I needed a chair that would offer a high level of comfort for a long time. There was quite a lot of shop junk at this price point, as did the Ikea Markus (which consistently gets great reviews). I came across the Proline II in a 5/2/2015 PC Gamer article where they recommended a budget chair. Bought and completely satisfied. In general, the assembly design looks very good. So let's look at some pros and cons: Pros: - Firm, dense seat cushion that still has a lot of resilience. I wouldn't call it plush, but in the end I don't even notice it after eight hours. It's a win if I count comfort. Mesh on the back provides ample support and yields. Good support for the lower and middle back. The wheels are smooth and easy to move. Numerous adjustments are available (front and rear seat adjustment, armrest height and width adjustment, seat angle adjustment, backrest angle adjustment, backrest tension and forward tilt). There aren't many chairs in this price range that offer these adjustments. Half Cons: - For those who need a lot of lumbar support, I don't think this is it. I would have liked a little more lumbar support, but I've found that I get enough support overall if I stay upright. The edge voltage seems to be too low. Even with the "hardest" tension, the back of the chair moves with very little movement. I would have liked a little more resistance. But my back is still blocked 90% of the time so it's not a big deal. Cons: - Arrived with a tear/puncture on the bottom of the pillow. The box wasn't damaged when it arrived so I'm not sure what hit it. I submitted a request to Office Star to resolve this issue without returning the entire product. If I can't fix it, I'm pretty sure it will fall apart after use. The armrests are made of fairly hard plastic. The comfort is still there, but be aware that they are not very soft. Even after tightening the knobs to lock them in place, they can still move from side to side. Again, not critical, but noticeable. Overall I am very happy with this chair and glad I spent less than $200 to purchase it. I think that's a good price for the amount of features. As a side note, I certainly don't understand the reviewer who complained about the instructions being difficult to understand. The assembly was very straight forward. The "mechanism" they are talking about is the only major part in the whole box (the part that contains all the adjustment levers). Yes, it's funny that the instructions ambiguously refer to it as "mechanism", but it's pretty clear that's exactly what it is. I assembled it in under 15 minutes with no problems and I believe most other buyers will have no trouble assembling this chair. The only minor caveat is that one of the six screws that attach the mechanism to the chair is a bit difficult to access due to the levers. The Allen keys included in the kit reach there and tightening takes no more than a minute. I'd happily edit this to five stars if I could fix the fabric tear. Edit: Emailed the company with teardrop photos and filled out a form asking for a new location. I was reassigned a new seat free of charge within a week of the confirmation of the letter. Upgraded to five stars, excellent customer service.
