Vandesail is a rugged flat cable with integral strain relief, jacket and gold plated contact. Gold plating or vaporization is always a sign of a quality cable. The jacket is made of durable material that is difficult to scratch. The shape of the flat cable is my favorite. It takes up less space than a round ethernet cable, it's easier to manage and route, and best of all, it's easy to tuck and hide in cracks or seams, e.g. B. between a carpet and a wall panel. The tabs on the connector have a cover that prevents other cables from snagging and breaking the locking tab. The cable comes in a variety of colors, which is very helpful when trying to identify a specific cable in a bundle. In terms of performance, I wasn't able to directly measure the cable's performance, but I was able to compare its performance to a 3-foot Category 7 cable. To do this, I substituted the shorter Cat 7 cable that used the WAN Port of the connected Netgear R6700V3 router and the cable modem. Service is provided by an ISP Gigablast or 1 Gbps cable modem. This WAN link is going to be the bottleneck on my home network when speed is affected by the cable, so it's important that I have the best performance there. I ran a speed test with both cables, the original 3 foot Cat 7 cable and the 10 foot Vandesail cable. As a result, both cables performed equally and very well, delivering the highest data transfer rates achievable with the Gigblast cable service. Highly recommended and good value for money!
