Review on Business Continuity Maturity Model by Shawn Bass

This model has helped us improve our overall BCM process by ensuring we understand risks through risk assessment. The documentation has assisted in bringing together people from different functions within our organization so they understand their role and responsibilities around Risk Assessment. I am interested in seeing how this plays out over time but it has been effective during our first implementation through working collaboratively to develop the toolkit of training materials we have deployed throughout our org. There isn't much else to dislike about this product other than there could be an improvement in user interface. We implemented business impact analysis as part of a multi-tenant ITIL 3 compliant service portfolio project managed by Virtumo. The maturity model has really helped me understand how to implement a BCP, as well as how to address gaps in my existing BCP. I have been able to see how my organization stacks up against the other BC companies in my market. I am able to see where gaps are in my BCP. I am also able to see how my organization can improve. I have been able to see where I can improve, and I have been able to see where I can improve my BCP.
