Toxic Chemical Odor

This lead feels well made, heavy and sturdy. However, it had to be sent back. It had an extremely toxic chemical odor that immediately gave me a headache upon opening. Whatever chemical treatment was used on the leather made me nauseous. Even in the box, it gave off a strong, poisonous odor. Ventilation outside didn't help. The chemical finish on the leash is not something I want my dog or myself to inhale. And dogs have a stronger sense of smell than humans. My dog hated the leash. If you are sensitive to smells and chemicals I do not recommend it.
