Definitely not the best material for your hair, I've had these silk and velvet headbands but they were way more expensive. The material is silky, clearly not real silk, but they are really comfortable on the wrist and in the hair for a long time. They definitely didn't make my hair look as harsh as regular hair ties and the colors are really cute. My hair is thin so I don't know how well it suits people with very thick hair but it might be worth it. To attempt. My ponytail needs to be wrapped 3 times to be tight so it might work for people with very thick hair but I guess it depends. But I'm glad I have them because I always lose them LOL and having so many is so handy I put a few in my purse, my car, my dresser, my nightstand, my bathroom and still have a bowl with it.
