I had a headset that had the third pin shorted for control and mic, put one of those in a line. Short resulted in an unpredictable hiatus and resumption of music and films. I can't use the controls or mic, so what, I can still use my favorite headphones, my Skullcandy Titans headphones, to listen to music. Very satisfied. The second was my daughter's iPad with Minnie Mouse headphones because the connector didn't fit because of the case. This perfectly fixed the situation. And when baby pulls on the cord, they just come loose. Any damage done is done by them and I will just order a new one instead of buying a new set of Disney branded headphones. Fixed the problem with one headphone, the other is insured. They're pretty well made, they feel great in your hands like you've received a quality product.
