This is a very underrated country album that, believe it or not, I first got my hands on when I was 4 years old. It's definitely better than the pop shit that Tim McGraw and Alabama were putting out back then (and I'm not a country purist, I just hate corporate music). Some of the best songs here are the fun "Ten Pound Hammer", the bluesy "Without Your Love", the beautiful ballad "Everything I Own" and the rather funny "How's The Radio Know". But the absolute classic here is "It's as close as I'll love you." If this song had been released 20 years earlier, it would have been among the best of all time, but it's sadly forgotten. This is not your typical country release, almost every song is good. Very consistent.
