Difficult to assemble, not very stable.

As many others have pointed out, this block is difficult to assemble as the many wooden dowels (24?) inherent in its construction are too loose to even begin to hold it together while trying to to secure it with screws; There are also four fine-threaded blunt screws for locking screw fittings that are meant to screw into what looks like a nylon fitting, but the holes in the fittings are too small and it takes brute force to unscrew them in the first place. started in the fittings and then some of the fittings tend to turn when you tighten the screws. But all the pre-drilled holes for the screws and wood dowels matched up nicely. Putting everything together is definitely a two person job, unless you enjoy watching everything keep falling apart due to ill-fitting wooden dowels. ; and since the block is made of pressed wood, after a while burglaries begin to affect the integrity of the holes drilled in individual shelves. One person can put it together with a lot of sweat, frustration, and perhaps the inappropriate use of what Mr. Spock calls random colorful metaphors, but two people make it much easier and faster, resulting in a better end product. Together, the base wobbles a little, especially on carpet, as the plastic platter assembly is flat at the bottom and is only held in place by a single 1/2-inch screw in the middle. And note that while the block itself is only about 12 inches square, it needs about 18 inches square of space to rotate since the device is just under 17 inches diagonally.
