I have 9 cats and 6 very large rectangular and corner litter boxes with high walls. I've been using these shovels for years. If you've ever broken a flimsy spoon while trying to scrape used residue from the bottom of a pot, then this is for you. I've read reviews mainly complaining that this shovel is useless and that some small pieces can sift through the "grid". All I can say is that for serious paddling, this shovel is amazing. If the leftovers sometimes bothered me, I could sift them with a skinny spoon after the serious work was done. Since I have a back problem that requires me to scoop on my knees, I usually shovel low so I don't get much benefit from a long erg grip, but my friend who shovels in my absence does so by himself leaning out from standing positions. I used to scrape the pan with a nasty product using a grill scraper, but this scratched the pan and caused wet residue to stick even more. This scoop solves that problem without scratching the pan. I cannot recommend this shovel enough. I have one for every pot in my house and I've gifted several cats to my friends. And the price is surprisingly low for what you get. Try this scoop, you won't be disappointed.
