The cable is long enough to be used in a sleeve. This is a great 2 pin cable that is compatible with everything from professional Motorola radios to the more affordable Retevis and Baofeng radios. The button works well, even if you don't believe it. The microphone works well and can be clipped onto a lapel or collar. The only problem is the button controls, they only work well if you only use one hand to do it, if not you'll need to get some tape or something to attach it to the sleeve, I seem to play with that when I put it on Deal not exclusively with safety, but it's not a deal breaker if you're resourceful. It's long enough to do a crossbody setup (i.e. plug in your right ear, the control button on the left, the mic on the left label, and the radio on the left or right. The cables hold up well during a chase, just make sure they are safe before they go to work.
