I wanted to use a 400GB minisd as a backup drive on my laptop. The laptop has a full size slot. When used with a full-size card, about half of the card is hanging around waiting to be ripped off. This guy comes in. The low profile adapter allows me to leave the card on 100% of the time without fear of it coming loose. The only drawback is easily overcome with ingenuity. A low profile card is a LOW profile. This means it can be difficult to extract. To fix this I attached a small piece of tape to the card so I have something to pull on if I want to remove the card. It's easy to do. Photos are in original size. Compare the full profile to the low profile. LP with tape. LP pasted with a ribbon ponytail
