Bought this to take my cat on walks/hikes. She loves it! I left it open and fully spread out on the floor for her to get comfortable before taking her outside in a backpack and she enjoys it best relaxing in the extended part. Durability: The bag is well made from all sides. I let my 4 month old kitten play with the bag as much as she wants (and she gives away everything she has). I wanted to see if she could rip it apart because I'd rather do it in the safety of our home than somewhere in the woods. It's been about a month and I haven't noticed any breaks on the net or anywhere else. Comfort: Very comfortable to put and pull on the shoulders. If you're going for a long walk, I recommend wearing a belt around your waist to support your lower back. I should note that while this doesn't concern me, I do think the belt is a bit short for those with a wide waist. Overall it was a VERY positive experience for me and the kitty and I'm so happy I bought it UPDATE MARCH 23, 2021: This has to be one of the best purchases I've made for my cat. She loves it. She still rests in it when I take her out - with or without the extended back. Most importantly, I had no issues with zippers, clips, stitching or anything, even the mesh. To be honest, I'm very surprised that the grille has no gaps, because when I put everything together I noticed that it was clinging to it. She has no nails and although I trim her nails, I don't do it as regularly as I should. The only problem I had, and that's why I'm here, is that she DESTROYED the bottom insert. I take full responsibility for this on behalf of my wildcat. She bit and scratched him often, and it took its toll. Now I'm looking for another. Bottom insert, no cat. I used the stretcher without the bottom insert, which surprisingly still works. It weighs around 10-12 lbs/4.5-5.5 kg and the trunk floor sags a little but not much. I don't know how she would have survived if she was heavier. I still highly recommend this carrier.
